Private Label vs OEM Manufacturing: What’s the Difference?

Two different starting points and manufacturing relationships — here’s how to tell which you need.

Private Label — You Bring the Idea

You come with a design direction rather than a finished spec. The manufacturer develops the product with you through pattern-making, fabric selection, sampling, and revisions. It is best for new brands without an in-house design team.

OEM — You Bring the Spec

You already have a finished tech pack and the manufacturer produces precisely to it. OEM is best for brands with an in-house design or product team.

Where White Label Fits In

White label is a finished generic product with your branding added. RayoRise does not operate as a white-label supplier: every order is manufactured to the brand’s own specification.

Private Label vs OEM — Side by Side

Private label starts with an idea and makes the manufacturer a development partner. OEM starts with a finished tech pack and makes the manufacturer a production partner.

Which One Do You Need?

If you have a finished tech pack now, choose OEM. If you have a strong idea but not a production-ready specification, choose private label.
